We at "Haifa for Bicycles" would like to welcome you to the European MTB championships Haifa 2010 and wish you good luck as well as a great stay at our beautiful city and country. We are the local branch of the national organisation for the promotion of bicycle transportation in Israel.

Some of you may have noticed that biking along the beach is unfortunately prohibited, and we are in the midst of changing that, too.

I would like to personally invite you these days to try a unique experience of the city of Haifa, by biking around the city while taking the Carmelit up all the way to the Carmel Center. The Carmelit is an underground cable-driven vehicle, which connects the city's downtown with its center of action. It is also, by the way, the shortest subway in the world. However, to date it is still prohibited to enter with your bike without a special pass, even though we managed to allow it starting from August. So if you are interested please contact me either by e-mail or by phone and I will see what I can do.
