TABA recognizes the crucial importance of promoting the environmental issue.
The Dan agglomeration ("Gush Dan"), and specifically Tel-Aviv,
suffer greatly from the side effects of the massive use of private vehicles:
air pollution, reduced "green areas"
and people's environmental insensitivity. A transition of
part of the private transportation to bicycles will instantly shrink the
extent of air pollution, will help keeping the "green areas",
and will increase our environmental sensitivity.
In parallel, TABA supports a "clean" public transportation, which will combine with the bicycles lanes, to create a comprehensive transportational solution for Tel-Aviv.
In accordance with this approach, TABA cooperates with the "Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel" and with "Green Action" (Pe'ula Yeruka) and "Green Course" (Megama Yeruka). In addition, attention is put to minimize the environmental influence of organized activities and during routine work.
In 1997 TABA received financial support of 10,000 NIS from the Ministry of Environment.
